Controluce: A Study in Light, Form and Femininity

There is something captivating about the way light meets architecture in Milan. The interplay of shadow and reflection, the quiet beauty of its facades, the contrast between classical grandeur and modern sensibility. It is a city that unfolds gradually; its beauty lies in its alleys and secret nooks. 

Shot in Milan, ControLUCE, LUCE's Fall '26 collection, takes its name from the Italian expression for backlight; the moment when light falls behind its subject, creating a delicate tension between what is revealed and what is hidden in the shadows.

This idea carries through the collection, where softness meets structure and femininity takes on a more architectural expression. Silhouettes follow the body with intention, while considered construction introduces shape, definition and contrast. There is a certain sensuality in the interplay: a fluid line against a structured form, a revealing detail balanced by restraint.

Rather than following a singular idea of dressing, ControLUCE explores the many ways a woman can inhabit her femininity. Some pieces feel understated and effortless; others carry a more pronounced presence. Each is an expression of a different mood, brought together by a shared appreciation for thoughtful design and considered detail.

Milan felt like a natural setting for this chapter. Its distinctive character, where history and modernity exist side by side, mirrors the collection's own language. The city becomes more than a backdrop; it is part of the story, lending its atmosphere to a collection shaped by contrasts.

With ControLUCE, LUCE continues its exploration of femininity through pieces designed to live beyond a single moment. Not defined by the season they belong to, but by the moments in which they are worn, remembered and returned to.
